ummmm... I don't know if you'll understand this but an individual that enters a country illegally, is an "illegal".

Kind of deflates the whole idea behind your post doesn't it?

Umm...I don't know if you'll understand, but the whole issue is to question the authority of the state to criminalize people based on their country of origin, particularly, when the states with the most restrictive immigration policies are those creating war and poverty in other countries. It seems to me that displacing people and then introducing coercive immigration policies conveniently makes for an indentured labour force. And, in my eyes, our so-called state representatives are the ones who are acting illegally, as well as unethically.

"Ministerial power in deciding the order in which new applications are processed, regardless of when they were filed" does not mean "prioritizing immigration applicants based on their ability to fulfill the needs of the Canadian job market," it means "an invitation to bid," and since no formal bidding process is set forth in the bill, it means an invitation to submit an informal bid, directly to the minister, or the CPOC, whichever you prefer.

By definition the "state" is sovereign and can make whatever the hell rule it wants in regards to immigration... Do yourself a favor and check out how Mexico treats illegal immigrants (from central America) before you complain about how we treat Mexicans that are illegally crossing into our territory...

I guess you have difficulty with reading comprehension. Polly said "..the whole issue is to question the authority of the state to criminalize i.e.['make whatever the hell rule it wants in regards to immigration']. Polly is questioning that very whimpering obedience to authority.

And because other countries may happen to treat illegal immigrants worse that doesn't justify how our country treats them, nor does it disqualify anyone from complaining how we treat them.
