We have our own problems down here!

"I suppose we Canadian women just aren't up for the "hassle" of politics."

Paul Martin essentially said this during the debate: He thought that women weren't interested in running because the House is so raucous. He also said that he figured that if more women were elected, the level of civility would rise.

I know; I saw! He seemed sincere - I don't think he gets it. We need stronger women in politics to explain to him that there are actual barriers to women entering politics besides a little raucous. For one, it would help if he would get that bloody childcare plan in place.

Perhaps they'll turn the red chambre into a day care after the Senate is abolished. :)
